2010 International Bowl:
South Florida Bulls vs. Northern Illinois Huskies
The International Bowl is the only post-season bowl game played outside of the United States. The International Bowl is a collegiate American football bowl game with the NCAA, where the first game was played in Bacardi Bowl, Cuba on January 1, 1937. The 2007 matchup was played in Toronto, Ontario in January 6, 2007 between the Western Michigan University and the University of Cincinnati. This game was broadcast live in the US on ESPN2 and in Canada with TSN. The 2008 game was played by Ball State and Rutgers in January 5, 2008.
In 2004, the city of Toronto led a partnership to host the bowl game in Toronto to boost the cityís tourism industry from becoming unpopular due to the SARS outbreak in 2003. The NCAA, however, sanctioned the new Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego instead. So Toronto re-launched the bid in 2005 which turned out successfully, thus playing the first game at the end of 2005 season.
The bowl signed in to two Division I conferences for annual representation. For the Bowl Championship Series, the Big East Conference will send to the game a fourth place or higher and the Mid-American Conference will include a top team in the event. Except for the University of South Florida, each conference consists of schools in the northern state of American Midwest and Northeast.
The 2009 International Bowl season game will feature another exciting match. Make sure you are in a seat clear enough to be able to watch the teams collide. Purchase your ticket to make this goal come true, and waste no time and buy your tickets now!
